A couple of weeks ago we met up with Katie and Brandon in Toledo, OH for their e-session! These two had a special place in the city picked out: The Oliver House. This is the spot where they first met a few years ago! We love photographing a couple in a place that means so much to them. Katie and Brandon were such a joy to work with. In February we photographed Nick's 3 months session and he did great! It is always amazing to me how much they change in that short amount of time. His face is getting so round - LOVE it! And those baby blues, such a handsome little guy already. I think Lorie and Brad will have their hands full with both of their boys:o)

Earlier this year we traveled to Fort Wayne, IN for a home session with the Threm family. This family was such a pleasure to work with - incredibly laid back and up for anything, including moving around furniture for good light:o) Johanna and Dave have 3 precious kids - Zoe and the twins, Ilan and Evin. Their blue sofa really pulled out the beautiful blues in the eyes of these little ones.

I thought I would continue the family theme with two of my other cousins, Raegan and Reed. I can remember these two being born, growing up and now I can hardly believe that one is about to be a high school senior and the other is wrestling in junior high! Raegan is such a sweet girl and always up for a photo shoot, which is great b/c I love photographing her. Reed on the other hand did not particularly enjoy the session but he humored us and really ended up doing a great job. I know their mom was excited about this session and we are so happy that we were able to do this for her.

My cousin Ashley and her boyfriend Josh wanted some images for their new home near Columbus, OH. We took this last November in the FREEZING COLD! LOL! But they were troopers, as I knew they would be. We also had the honor of meeting Josh's daughter Jasmine. She is such a grown up 10 year old and already a terrific model! We had a great time with these regardless of me stepping in something a little unpleasant and almost falling to my death down a set of stairs (for those of you who know me well none of this should surprise you, lol!).

We had the pleasure of meeting Kasey Conyers, owner of Bliss Events, last summer at Engage!09 Caymans. We could not have been more thrilled when she contacted us this past winter for a portrait session of her gorgeous family. Kasey and her husband Shawn live in a home after my own heart in the wonderful Victorian Village of Columbus, OH. They have two very handsome and very intoxicating little boys, along with two hilarious bulldogs. We could not have had a better time with them and are looking forward to another session soon!

I have known Nikki since before I can remember. My mom babysat for her and her sisters many years ago and she was only a grade behind me K-12 of school. In the Winter of 2003 we chatted about boys on a cruise and a little over a year and a half later I was photographing her wedding to Josh:o) Sticky and I could not have been happier for these two when we heard the news of a baby on the way. I know they have been waiting a very long time and I am just so thrilled that we got a chance to meet the very beautiful Kasia!

Precious lil' Althea is now 3 months:o) We just love this girl to pieces and had a great photo shoot at her house! I cannot get over how girlie she already is with those dainty little fingers and pretty lips. But with such a gorgeous Momma like Jordanne I would not expect anything less:o) She is just so precious and we already cannot wait for the next session!

We had a wonderful time photographing Caitlin and Corey's wedding in South Bend, IN. Their ceremony took place in the beautiful Basilica of the Sacred Heart, University of Notre Dame - which just so happens to be Caitlin's alma mater. This day was nothing short of classy, a perfect description for this metro couple who currently reside in NYC. They had everything planned brilliantly from afar. And despite the bitter cold temps outside the day was full of warmth and laughter.

While we are on the subject of amazing photographers I cannot help but blog Cara and Scott Nava of Carasco Photography. They contacted us last year for some updated images of the two of them. While it is always an honor to photograph another photographer I have to admit it is a bit nerve racking as well. Well these two calmed those nerves in about 3 seconds. They could not be a more sweet, lovely and amazing couple. We laughed over pints, shot some images and then enjoyed a late night Asian snack including chic cocktails. It was such a wonderful evening!

And as for the images, these two are a blast to photograph! Scott had a great spot picked out, so very us and them:o) You gotta love that!

In our previous anniversary post we mentioned our dear friends the Nudds. We thought this would be a good time to finally show you some of their holiday session. We have been doing this with the Nudds for several years now and could not enjoy it more. We kept mentioning that we should go to a different city one year and finally we made it happen. Joy spent a lot of her younger years in Charleston, SC - she considers it her hometown in fact. We have heard from Joy and many others how wonderful the city is and we could not agree more.

But even more wonderful than the amazing setting of Charleston was the always fabulous company of Garrett, Joy, Graycen and Campbell. We adore this family and are so honored to photograph them.

They have a great tradition going on with their Holiday greeting. Not sure what will happen once the girls start growing out of the shot:o)

Boots have been having an identity crisis lately. A tall boot with an open toe? A closed toe bootie with an open heel? Is it a shoe or a boot - thus inventing the shootie. Well it is the sandals turn to reinvent itself and I think it is just lovely.

Jimmy Choo could not have came up with this little gem soon enough. Just in time for Spring we have an edgy yet light sandal to go with all those flowery dresses and skirts that keep popping up. Of course this is not the perfect shoe for every girl, but then again has Choo ever designed for the timid? You can add these to your new Spring wardrobe at Saks Fifth Avenue.

3 blissful years in the books...

Sometimes it is hard to believe that it has only been 3 years since our wedding day, other times it seems like an eternity ago. Regardless every single day that I have been married to my best friend has been a blessing. I am a very lucky gal to be on this crazy life journey with such a genuine, kind and handsome man.

Us, last December, in Charleston, SC. I love how the two images somewhat mimic each other. Both images taken by the same amazing artist and friend, Garrett Nudd.

It is hard to believe this big guy is the same Rowen that we met 3 months ago!!! He is getting so big and even more handsome. This time we met him at his Grandpa and Grandma's house. Today we are on our way home from a lovely getaway in NYC. Sticky and I spend more time together than most couples I know. Yet, we often have to remind ourselves to slow down and take time to just be together - no work, no distractions. It has been amazing catching up with my best friend these last two days. It was much overdue:o)

leo steven, our newest little nephew

We are once again lucky enough to call ourselves Aunt Brandy & Uncle Sticky. Leo Steven arrived last month and we could not have been more excited to meet him. He is such a handsome little baby, just like his big brother Clay was. He was not all that into having his picture taken, he is quite the little snuggle bug, but we did manage to steal a few.

Congrats Carl, Kim, Maddie, Clay, Alaina and Gunner! Leo certainly fits right into this beautiful family:o)

In the spirit of Valentine's Day I felt that it was appropriate to feature something cupid worthy. I skimmed through patent red leather, delicate bows and classic slingbacks. All were terrific but not quite what I had in mind for the Holiday of Love. And then I spotted these and I knew I had been hit by cupid's arrow.

I classic platform pump made into the most fabulous vintage pair of heels I have ever seen. The pinked trim, framed heel and cut-out doily suede say nothing less than "Will you be my Valentine?". I have to wonder if Christian Dior himself was inspired by handmade Valentine creations made by many starry eyed lovers for the last several decades. a snowy kind of day

Like many of you out there we are being snowed in today. This morning, as I stepped into the kitchen in hopes of more warm coffee, I looked out the backdoor and fell in love all over again with my favorite snow covered face. Life is full of simple little gifts and this is one of mine.

We have many images of Willis that I love - from his first swim to his eager rides on the Kelleys Island Ferry. But there is something about snow on this guy that really brings out his wonderful puppy dog face. And even though his chin has turned as white as snow over the years, we can still see that young and happy puppy whenever we look at him.

There has been something missing in my life the past 7 months. It's not that I did not know what it was, I was just too busy to acknowledge it. And then there were the comments, the questions, the looks. Everyone wanted to know what exactly what was going on. For crying out loud - what happened to the shoe posts??!!

Have no fear all my fellow shoe fetishers. They are back and oh how I have missed doing these posts! And of course I could not have started with just any ole' heel. They had to be special, they had to be fabulous, they had to be CHOO.

Who would not love their perfectly manicured toes peeking out of these feather adorned heels by the one and only Jimmy Choo? And for all you fashionistas out there - I know, I know, we have seen so many feathers the last couple of years. But these are different in that they are natural and dramatic at the same time. I love how the feathers sweep around the shoe, like it was the way nature intended. And those golden studs, the ideal finishing touch. You can find this exquisite pair at Saks Fifth Avenue.

Seems like forever ago that a pretty girl on MySpace (yes, all the way back when everyone was still on MySpace, lol!) sent me a message when she found out we were going to California. Lindsay and Steve were living on the West Coast while planning an Ohio wedding. It worked out just right that we could photograph their e-session while in Cali and after that first meeting we knew that this wedding was going to be great! They worked with Kristen Kloth from Tres Chic Event Planning to create their dream wedding at the incredible Dayton Art Institute. Lindsay loves shoes and being unique - a girl after my own heart:o) Between Lindsay's extraordinary style and Steve's knowledge of event planning these two could have nothing short of a spectacular day.

We had another wonderful Fall wedding last year in our humble hometown. Last winter we photographed Kristin and Marc's fantastic wedding. When Kristin's sister Katie contacted us shortly after for her own wedding we were ecstatic. Katie and John are a fun couple who are obviously in love and best of friends. Their wedding was classic with a touch of whimsy. It was so great to be reunited with Katie's family and meet John's side as well. It is always wonderful to see a couple surrounded in so much support and love.

Earlier last year we were contacted by one of our '07 seniors, Shannon, for an internship. We have worked with Shannon several times in the past and knew that her attitude and spirit would be a pleasant part of our team during the crazy Holiday Season. Well, not only did she live up to expectations - she surpassed them by leaps and bounds. This was our first experience with an intern and we truly could not have been more pleased.

As a thank you to Shannon we photographed her boyfriend, Josh, and her while we were all down South (long story, lol!). Obviously these two or GORGEOUS so our job was pretty easy.

When work brought us down to Florida we were given the chance to stay with our friends the Pardons - we could not have been more thrilled. Earlier this year Brandon was given the opportunity to work in Tampa so the family packed up their things in Ohio for warmer air:o) They absolutely love it down there, we are so happy for them! Every year we photograph them for the holiday so this year Johanna and I decided that we needed color, color, color. Her and I had a blast shopping for this, especially the boys' outfits. Of course this family could be wearing burlap sacks and they would still be unbelievably gorgeous.

Cleveland has been a city in Ohio that I did not explore much until recently, and I have to say that I like it more and more each time. Of course it also helps to have terrific clients who we get to photographic in such a great city. Susan and Kreshnik met up with us in a gorgeous park for some scenic Fall pics followed up by a more urban setting in the city. Sticky's sister Kim and her husband Carl own a little slice of heaven near their home that we finally decided to photograph a session at. I really cannot believe we have yet to shoot here but I am sure there will be more Cummins Family Sessions here in the future. We ventured over to their woods on a chilly morning and the kids, per usual, were fantastic. These kids are the happiest you will ever meet. And I know we are a bit biased Aunt and Uncle but they are also stinkin' cute!

One great thing about living near where I grew up is photographing families of people I have known for a very long time. Jon and I are actually related and Lindsay was a year ahead of me in high school. Jon is in the military which has required a lot of moving for this family, but over the years we have been able to squeeze in a session when they are visiting home. They were in b/t moves on this shoot. In fact they were moving from Alaska to Arlington, Va - so they were pretty excited.

As you can see they are an extremely attractive family. But even more than that they are incredibly sweet. Carter and Avery could not be more pleasant and Jon and Lindsay are the easiest people to talk to. We feel very honored to photograph this family:o)

We received this referral form our lovely photographer friend Sarah Parent. We had no idea what to expect other than the fact that Sarah proclaimed that Andi and Alex are a very sweet and wonderful couple. Well she could not be more correct because these two were an absolute joy to work with. They were married at the Whyte Horse Winery in Indiana. A day that threatened rain but that did not really matter, these two were smiles all day.

We did most of our shooting near Heather's place of work which is fairly close to downtown. We have been looking forward to our trip to the Dominican Republic for Jill and Nolan's Destination Wedding for a very long time! We were thrilled when Jill contacted us to capture their day! Just last February we photographed her sister Jenelle's wedding. We were welcomed by their family with such open arms and this wedding was absolutely no exception. Jill and Nolan's closest friends and family gathered together for an intimate and fun wedding. Although there were only 50 people in attendance I believe I saw just as many smiles and hugs as you would see at a 500 person wedding. This was our first official beach wedding and it was wonderful!

We grabbed the boys real quick before heading over to the girls room. We needed shade and I loved the lines of this awning.

So sorry for the lack of blog posts. We have had a whirlwind few weeks that we are dying to share with you. We will be enjoying a few weeks relatively close to home so our blogging should be back to it's regular scheduling.

To start things off we would like to share April and Ty's wonderful wedding. These two have an amazing family surrounding them. We particularly enjoyed the nieces and nephews on April's side of the family, they were such a joy to photograph and it was very evident that April and Ty were thrilled to have them as a part of their day. Ty's family is also a blast - full of laughs which we love. His Grandmother even got into the action with a little dancing. It was such a great wedding!

We love when client's suggest locations that have meaning to them. We love it even more when the location is beyond awesome with endless image possibilities. That was the case for Megan and Brian's e-session. Megan suggested her Grandparent's home which is the definition of a country home. Complete with old barns, grain bins, tall grasses and of course some kitties and a dog - we just loved this place. And to top all that of we had such great subjects to photograph. An absolutely adorable couple who loves to laugh.

I forgot to mention that they are a pretty hot couple as well=)

Brian is a fireman and they wanted just a couple with the truck. I love the intimacy with the fire engine red color.

Amanda contacted us a few weeks back about doing some new head shots for her exciting wedding company called Baci Designer. We had the honor of photographing her and her husband Ilario's wedding back in the Fall of 2007. Sticky's brother's family were visiting for a few days a couple of weeks ago and Josie was kind enough to model for a special project we are working on. Sticky and I are so lucky to have nieces and nephews that are so stinkin' adorable. Josie has such a sweet spirit, this girl never stops smiling which is perfect b/c her smile is precious!

We just had to sneak in a couple with our newest nephew Grant! Such a handsome man already!

Alex is someone we have been photographing since about 2 months and he is now 2 years! We were so thrilled when Alex parent's decided to have his session down in Columbus, one of our favorite places to photograph! Alex of course was very well dressed and ready to go. I love that he recognizes us, such a rewarding connection to make with a young person. This little guy is becoming a big brother this Fall! We could not be more thrilled for the whole family!

put a feather in your heel

The gorgeous and talented Gwen Stefani (designer of L.A.M.B.) has once again blown me away with a unique design. Fashion has been flocked with birds in the past few years. First they were showing up in prints decorating everything from skirts to handbags. Then they moved onto to our jewelry, elegant wings adorned the neck in the most delicate of shades. And in the last 1 1/2 years I guess you could say they have been "plucked". Hair pieces, clutches, hats and of course shoes have been decorated with the prettiest and edgiest of feathers. And even though I know so many of you may be tired of the feather I cannot help but feature these:

A black leather heel adorned with feathers and sparkly paillettes! What more could a girl ask for? These are wonderful sexy, different and most importantly FUN! Sounds like a pretty good description of Ms Stefani herself. You can find these at Zappos Couture.

I do not even know where to begin with this wonderful wedding. Ever since we received the first call from Lisa and David we knew that this was going to be a very special affair. Lisa is very creative and detail oriented, and this wedding was nothing less of spectacular. I was so thrilled to finally see Lisa's vision come to life.

And if the style of the wedding was not enough, these two are quite possibly the sweetest couple a person could ever meet. They are all about making others feel loved and their appreciation for their bridal party and guests was evident.

Basically from arrival we knew that this wedding was going to be special. Great friends, family, style and couple. What an honor to be there for it all!

Lisa and I have quite a bit in common. We have connected over quite a few things in the last year. One of them being shoes and hers were nothing short of spectacular.

Senior Soiree | Ohio Senior Photography

We hosted a Senior Soiree as a thank you to our wonderful '08 and '09 seniors! This was a first for us and we had a wonderful time. Below are a few images from the fun afternoon!

The afternoon kicked off with a make-up lesson from the one and only Jordanne Clyde. Jordanne is an extremely talented make-up artist which we knew so many of the girls would love to learn from.

She did an amazing job which could not have prepared the girls better for their fashion photo shoot. Alicia Foehl graciously assisted the girls in their wardrobe choices. It was so much fun for me to revisit these girls and of course photograph them again! And again, I may be biased, but we have the most gorgeous seniors=)

Thank you to all of those who could make it! We are looking forward to more of these events in the future! And of course a special thank you to Jordanne, Alicia and our make-up model Kate! I am so honored to be working with some of the best!

Savannah, GA - what can we say?! We love it there so much! Every time we visit Savannah we meet wonderful people and have some of the most memorable times. On our last trip we had the opportunity to meet Wendi Patrick. This fantastic woman is the Director of Marketing and PR at the Savannah Christian Preparatory Schools. Wendi connected with us through our dear friend David Whidden (he had quite a hand in the planning of our wedding, so we pretty much think he rocks!). She was looking for some updated imagery of her younger students and we were honored when she asked us to capture them!

We took many images around the campus! It is such a gorgeous facility for a child to attend and I must say that these children seem very happy. Here is just a sneak peek of a few:

Thanks so much to Addison, Emma, Aiden N., Aiden C., Kade, Cora, Shelby, Knox, Kennedy Jewel and Mills! What a joy it was to meet all of you! Last year cut-outs were all the rage in heels. Carrie Bradshaw rocked them in almost the entire SATC flick. Well just like the girls of SATC we cannot get enough and cut-outs are back! This version from Jimmy Choo is sure make you ask for more and more:

I myself am a fan of snakeskin on heels, but it has to be the perfect pair and it has to be sexy. Nothing, and I mean nothing, tops off the black top and jeans combo better than a sexy snakeskin heel! You can find these at Nordstrom.

We traveled down to beautiful St Augustine for Nicole and Michael's destination wedding. These two could not have asked for a more gorgeous day in Florida! We had the pleasure of shooting around St Augustine before their beach side wedding located at the lovely Seranata Beach Club. It is always a thrill to shoot in new locations! Thanks to Garrett and Joy Nudd for the awesome referral.

We made time to stop at the gorgeous Casa Monica Hotel, which happened to be the location of the couple's honeymoon suite. A little touch up of the dress before continuing with creative portraits.

lillie is one | ohio children photography

One is such a fun age! It is the pre-toddler, just walking or almost about to sort of wobbly time that is such a blast to capture. Lillie was a great little model. She was pretty much happy from the moment we walked in the door! We started off at her home and then moved onto to a couple of other locations. We were both very impressed with how willing she was to cooperate. And of course we had to snag a few of big brother Ethan and the rest of the family=)
